raw / sessions: a compilation album (2025)

Hi and Welcome!

2025 marks 25 years of me recording music professionally.

raw / sessions is a collection of some of my favorite raw, rough cuts—and unreleased tracks spanning from recording studios in New York City to Los Angeles, Boston, Santa Fe, Baltimore, Hartford and Miami. These tracks go all the way back to 1998, with a live track unearthed from my parents basement, when I was fourteen years old, singing 'Bring Him Home' from Les Misérables: Live in Concert in Hartford, Connecticut. At fourteen, what the heck did I know about sorrow, or the unbearable loss of a child? But as I reflect on my life in and out of musical theatre, turns out I knew a lot—about loss, anxiety, confusion, and the heavy heartache life can bring to a child who is labeled as 'other'.

This compilation of over 50 songs, is just a fraction of my archive of more than 2,000 sound recordings. Almost three decades of music and heart poured into these single-take tracks, where I sang the vocals straight through, no stopping -- all brought to life with the encouragement, guidance, and expertise of countless brilliant musicians, engineers, and producers.  

In addition to some funny blooper takes, you’ll also hear live performances from my off-Broadway productions and we even go back to 2002, to my first solo performance at Dillon's Cabaret Theatre in the heart of New York City in Billy and Judi Shepards (famous) cabaret review. 

My hope is you too will feel the raw, unfiltered emotion and messaging in these songs, and that you enjoy listening to them as much as I loved performing them.
